Tomato Ketchup is one of the most popular sauce in the world. There are many brands of Tomato Ketchup in Pakistan like Ahmed Tomato Ketchup, National Tomato Ketchup, Knorr Tomato Ketchup, Shangrilla Tomato Ketchup and many more. Most of the commercially produced Tomato Ketchups are made from Tomato Paste, prepared locally or imported from neighbouring countries. These branded tomato ketchup are easy to use but a load of preservatives are added in their products. Some times food colours are also added to maintain colour consistency. I am not asking not to use the commercially prepared Tomato Ketchup, but selected trusted brands. Tomato Ketchup can easily be prepared in your kitchen also. Kindly follow my following recipe.

- Tomatoes, red coloured and ripe, chopped 1 Kg
- Sugar 1 cup
- Vinegar 1 tablespoon
- Malmal (Muslin) cloth 1 x 1 foot piece
- Chilli powder 1 teaspoon
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Garam Masala powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Mace 1 flower
- Boil tomatoes in enough water with spices pouched in malmal cloth., strain to remove skin and seeds.
- Discard spices remains in malamal cloth.
- Grind the skin and seed removed tomato material and pass through a malmal cloth for a fine texture.
- Now Put the material so obtained in a pan , add sugar and vinegar and cook on medium flame till sugar dissolved and required consistency is obtained.
- Delicious Tomato Ketchup is Ready, cool and serve.
