Brown Cake براؤن کیک

Brwon Cake is a delicious  sweet treat for all occasion.  Here is my old and time tested recipe.

Brown Cake in Baking Pan

  • Maida  (all purpose flour)  2 cup (200g)
  • Sugar  1 cup (150-175 g)
  • Butter  100 g
  • Eggs 2
  • Cocoa powder 2 teaspoons heaped (10g)
  • Baking powder  1 teaspoon
  • Corn Starch  1 tablespoon
  • Baking round pan 8 inch

  • Sift maida, cocoa powder, baking powder and corn starch 4 times to mix well.  Keep aside.
  • Now in a large  glass bowl ,  whisk together butter and sugar with a hand whisker.
  • Then add egg one by one , while whisking to a smooth texture.
  • Now fold in maida cocoa mixture in portions to a uniform batter.
  • Shift the contents into a 8 inch round pan (lubricated and baking paper lined)
  • Place in a pre-heated oven at 190-degree celsius ( 350-degree F or gas mark 3-4).
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes.
  • Check for completion of baking by inserting a knife or bamboo skewer. If come out clean then the cake is done.
  • Remove from oven and cool for 20-30 minutes.
  • Delicious Brown Cake is ready.
  • Decorate with frosting/icing.
  • Cut into pieces and serve.
